Here are a few reasons to be part of the

Hardy Plant Society of Oregon.

  • Discounted prices to lectures and programs

HPSO brings in speakers, both local, national, and world-class, to offer first-rate lectures on a wide variety of garden topics. HPSO also offers the Gen(i)us Series, a smaller-venue of programs that focus on a particular genus of plants, and also Garden School, a group of in-depth, hands-on workshops.

  • Visits to private gardens

HPSO prints an Open Gardens book each year listing dozens of members' gardens open throughout the garden season. All garden visits are free.

  • HPSO Quarterly

HPSO publishes a quarterly magazine with articles on various gardening subjects (written by volunteers), keeping them up-to-date on the latest news, programs, and trends in gardening.  The quarterly is available FREE by email or for $10/year for a printed version sent by US postal mail.

  • Discounts to local nurseries and other businesses

HPSO members are entitled to discounts of 5%-25% at dozens of participating nurseries.

  • Overseas tours at wholesale prices

HPSO offers affordable overseas garden tours. Past tours have traveled to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal & Madeira, and South Africa. Over 22 tours have been conducted to date.  Future tours will include New Zealand, too.

  • Discounted prices on all garden books

At least 20% off all garden books - all the time - including the latest releases.

  • Plant sales & garden art sales

HPSO conducts the largest and best plant sales in the Pacific NW, typically with over 120 nurseries and garden artists participating.

  • 1600-volume lending library

  • And the camaraderie of avid gardeners like you
