Each membership of HPSO includes the following benefits:

  • Discounted prices to lectures and programs

    HPSO brings in speakers, both local, national, and world-class, to offer first-rate lectures on a wide variety of garden topics. HPSO also offers the Gen(i)us Series, smaller-venue programs that focus on a particular genus of plants,  and also a group of in-depth, hands-on workshops.

  • Visits to private gardens

    HPSO prints an Open Garden book each year listing dozens of members' gardens open throughout the garden season. All garden visits are free.

  • HPSO Quarterly

    HPSO publishes a quarterly magazine with articles on various gardening subjects (written by volunteers), keeping them up-to-date on the latest news, programs, and trends in gardening.  The quarterly is available FREE by email or for $7/year for a printed version sent by US postal mail.

  • Discounts to local nurseries and other businesses

    HPSO members are entitled to discounts of 5%-25% at dozens of participating nurseries.

  • Overseas tours at wholesale prices

    HPSO offers affordable overseas garden tours. Past tours have traveled to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and South Africa. Over 18 tours have been conducted to-date.  Tours are planned for Spain, Portugal, Madeira, and New Zealand.

  • Discounted prices on all garden books

    At least 20% off all garden books - all the time - including the latest releases.

  • Plant sales & garden art sales

    HPSO conducts the largest and best plant sales in the Pacific NW, typically with over 120 nurseries and garden artists participating.  "Hortlandia" is the spring sale; "PlantFest" is the fall sale.
