Gen(i)us Program: Rock Roses in the Garden
Genus genius David Mason is co-owner of Hedgerows Nursery, near McMinnville, known for their selection of unusual ornamentals.
He will speak about the genera Cistus, Halimium, xHalimiocistus and Helianthemum. With
careful selection and the proper site and
culture, rockroses are plants that
perform splendidly in our climate. David?s illustrious
horticultural career, first in England, and
then on the West Coast USA, makes him
the perfect ?genus genius? for this
program, especially considering drought
tolerance has been a particular focus at
Hedgerows.

Garden School Workshop:
Editing Your Garden: Restoration, Renovation, Renewal
If your mature garden is not the vision you imagined, this workshop will give you guidance to look through new eyes. Noted garden designer, writer and speaker Lucy Hardiman presents this three-part workshop for a small group of intermediate or advanced gardeners. Through slides and lectures, she will share how she's approaching her own garden renewal. She will also lend ideas to participants about how to restore a problem area of their own. Finally, there will be a field trip to Lucy's garden to see how the concepts learned in class are applied to the actual space.
