Garden Stories: "My Gotham Garden - The Joys and Challenges of Creating a Garden in Manhattan"
Wednesday, October 13, 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM PDT
Category: Programs

In this program, Donald will share his inspirational story of how he transformed a barren, abandoned lot behind his Manhattan apartment into a lush botanical paradise.

My Gotham Garden

After moving from Portland to New York City in 1980, he has spent the last four decades creating this oasis, despite the challenges faced as an urban gardener. Donald will share how he created this stunning garden on a small budget using public transportation and limited water access.

Donald Olson is a playwright, novelist and travel and garden writer. He became a pioneer in the field of garden tourism with his two books, The Pacific Northwest Garden Tour and The California Garden Tour, both published by Timber Press. With his presentation called “My Gotham Garden,” he will give us a tour of the unique garden he has created in Manhattan.

This is a Zoom presentation.  Price is $5 for members; $10 for non-members

HPSO programs are recorded and available for two weeks following the original presentation to all those who register for the programs
