Amy Coulter

Amy Coulter, Executive Director 

Amy brings 20+ years of experience as a small business owner and has been the treasurer of three nonprofit boards. She has also been a community leader, founding the South Portland Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET). She looks forward to bringing her creative problem-solving skills, expertise in the area of nonprofit financials, and passion for supporting volunteers to do the work they love at the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon.

In addition to her professional business background, Amy brings a love of community, education, travel, and gardening to the job. She tends a garden that strives to be an edible oasis with varying types of berries and trees that bear fruit throughout the summer.

Nandy Mason, Membership Services Specialist

Nandy has been an enthusiastic member of the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon since 2022. Originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, he moved to Portland in 1986 and has called it home ever since. With over 35 years of experience in customer service, most recently with the Oregon Judicial Department at the Multnomah County Courthouse, Nandy brings a warm, people-first approach to his role with HPSO. He is passionate about helping others and is always happy to assist HPSO members with their questions and needs. When he’s not supporting members, Nandy likes spending time with his husband and can often be found tending to his garden, where he specializes in tropical and southern hemisphere plants. He has a particular love for orchids, palms, grevilleas, and koi fish.

Aubrey Hornor, Programming Manager

Aubrey is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Oregon State University, where she focuses on wildlife conservation and ecology. A passionate birder with a deep appreciation for both flora and fauna, she is dedicated to supporting and sustaining biodiverse ecosystems. Prior to graduate school, Aubrey served as the Director of Cistus Nursery for a year and a half. She also maintains a thriving drought-tolerant garden at home, designed to flourish with minimal water use and maximum ecological value. As our Programming Manager, Aubrey brings her creative touch to everything involving words and images for the organization.
