HPSO Study Weekend

Mark your calendar for the return of Garden Study Weekend
June 17-19, 2022 in Bellevue, Washington

Study Weekend 2022
The Northwest Perennial Alliance, our sister hardy plant group in the Seattle area, will host the first Study Weekend since 2019. All our favorite Study Weekend staples will be included: local and national seminar speakers, inspiring open gardens, the plant market, and the festive garden soiree evening. Learn more about this year’s event called Garden + Connections; A Partnership with the Earth.

NPA has made one major change from past events. All the speaker presentations will be on Saturday. This reduces convention center fees, and the savings will be passed along to attendees. Another, new feature will be Covid protocols to keep everyone safe and healthy. All Study Weekend participants will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test result. Washington state masking requirements will also be in place.

Registration for Garden Study Weekend opens to all on February 15. Start making plans now. Tickets often sell-out quickly.

About Study Weekend
Study Weekend is the Pacific Northwest’s premier gardening conference, attracting gardeners from across the United States and Canada, and from far-away places like the U.K. and Australia. The conference provides attendees the opportunity to hear from several internationally renowned speakers, to visit superb open gardens in the host city, to purchase plants and garden art from local nurseries and artists, and to participate in engaging social activities with fellow passionate gardeners.
Scheduled for a weekend in late June, Study Weekend rotates among four cities and four host organizations: Portland (The Hardy Plant Society of Oregon; Seattle (Northwest Perennial Alliance); Vancouver, B.C. (Vancouver Hardy Plant Group); and Victoria, B.C. (Victoria Horticultural Society’s Hardy Plant Group).
Adjustments to the Study Weekend rotation and schedule were approved by the host organizations in 2020. The new city rotation is as follows:
2022       Seattle, June 17, 18, 19
2023       Vancouver, B.C., tentative dates are June 23, 24, 25
2025       Portland, Oregon
2027       Victoria, B.C.
Please note that after 2023, Study Weekend will take place every other year.
